WCKC Race 9 — Season Finale Weekend

Race 9 brought the West Coast Kart Club championship chase to its closing weekend, and EDX arrived ready for one final push of the 2026 WCKC season.

The weekend was more than just racing. On Saturday, EDX hosted its season-end banquet in the pits, bringing together drivers, families, mechanics, supporters, and friends to celebrate a long season of growth, effort, and racing memories. It was a great reminder that while the results happen on track, the heartbeat of the team is built in the paddock.

Then Sunday arrived with sunshine, energy, and some exciting racing across the schedule. After a season full of changing weather, reverse layouts, double-headers, new drivers, new equipment, and championship pressure, Race 9 gave the team one last opportunity to finish strong.

Representing EDX across the weekend were Patrick Kleine, Teagan Kleine, Andrew Bench, Jack Harbidge, Kaden Samhan, and Cash Coogan, competing across LO206 Heavy, KZ Shifter, LO206 Junior, TaG Junior, and TaG Senior.

Jack Eriksson was also part of the Race 9 plan in LO206 Senior, but unfortunately got sick and was unable to make the weekend. We missed having him under the tent and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.

It was a finale with a little bit of everything: a podium for Patrick in LO206 Heavy, a podium for Teagan in LO206 Junior, an unforgettable wheel-to-wheel drive from Kaden, strong learning races for the junior group, continued KZ development, and the first look at what could be a very exciting set of WCKC championship results once the points are confirmed.

Weekend Highlights

Patrick Kleine delivered one of the biggest EDX results of the weekend in LO206 Heavy. After qualifying P7 in class and finishing P6 in the Pre-Final, Patrick put together a strong Final and finished P3. That podium was a great way to close the WCKC season and a strong reminder of the pace and race craft he brings in the Heavy field.

Teagan Kleine had another busy double-class weekend in LO206 Junior and TaG Junior. His LO206 Junior program ended on a high note, with Teagan charging to P2 in the Final after starting the day P6 in qualifying and finishing P7 in the Pre-Final. It was one of his best Sunday results of the season and a great finish to his LO206 Junior championship run.

In TaG Junior, Teagan qualified P5 and finished P5 in the Pre-Final, but his Final ended almost immediately after he was hit and unable to continue. He was officially classified P13, but the result does not reflect the pace he showed earlier in the day.

Kaden Samhan gave the team one of the most exciting races to watch. In the LO206 Junior Final, Kaden was in a race-long duel with Ayden Bailey, with multiple position changes and close racing all the way to the finish line. Kaden held on to finish P9, just 0.216 seconds ahead of Ayden in P10. For everyone watching from the fence, this was one of those races that had people leaning forward lap after lap.

Andrew Bench had a tougher Race 9 on paper, but his season-long story remains one of the biggest EDX headlines of 2026. He qualified P8 in TaG Junior, finished P10 in the Pre-Final, and was classified P10 in the Final after penalties. Even with a complicated finale, Andrew’s championship campaign has been outstanding, and the preliminary standings currently show him at the top of the TaG Junior class.

Jack Harbidge continued his development in TaG Junior, qualifying P10, moving to P8 in the Pre-Final, and finishing P11 in the Final. His Pre-Final was his strongest Race 9 result and showed another step forward in a very competitive junior field.

Cash Coogan took on TaG Senior, one of the fastest and most demanding categories on the schedule. He qualified P11, moved to P10 in the Pre-Final, and was classified P13 in the Final after a bumper penalty. It was another important race weekend in his senior-class development.

Patrick also continued his work in the KZ Shifter package. This was another valuable weekend of learning the more demanding 6-speed platform after recently moving over from DD2. The results were not the full story. The real value is in the laps, data, and comfort that will help shape the 2027 direction.

Driver Reports

Patrick Kleine

LO206 Heavy and KZ Shifter

Patrick Kleine closed the WCKC season with a strong result in LO206 Heavy and continued development in KZ Shifter.

In LO206 Heavy, Patrick qualified P7 in class with a best lap of 1:03.131. He then finished P6 in the Pre-Final, setting a best lap of 1:01.949 and keeping himself in the front half of the field heading into the Final.

The Final was Patrick’s highlight of the day. He completed all 13 laps and finished P3, earning an EDX podium in the season finale. His best lap was 1:02.217, and the result gave him a strong finish to his WCKC LO206 Heavy campaign.

Patrick also continued his KZ Shifter learning curve. He qualified P6 in Shifter with a best lap of 55.182, was listed DNS in the Pre-Final, and finished P7 in the Final after completing four laps. The KZ package is a different animal from DD2: more physical, more technical, and much more demanding on starts, shifting, braking, and setup. The move is part of a longer-term development path, and every session adds important information for 2027.

Teagan Kleine

LO206 Junior and TaG Junior

Teagan Kleine wrapped up his WCKC season with another double-class weekend and a standout LO206 Junior Final.

In LO206 Junior, Teagan qualified P6 with a best lap of 1:02.251. The Pre-Final was a little more complicated, with Teagan classified P7 after a two-second penalty for causing collision. Even so, he stayed close enough to give himself a shot in the Final.

And in the Final, he delivered.

Teagan finished P2 in LO206 Junior, completing all 13 laps and setting a best lap of 1:01.498. It was a strong, composed run and a great podium finish to close the WCKC season.

In TaG Junior, Teagan qualified P5 with a best lap of 52.591, then finished P5 in the Pre-Final. Unfortunately, the TaG Junior Final ended before he could complete a lap after he was hit early and unable to continue. He was officially classified P13, but the result does not tell the full story of his pace or his weekend.

Teagan’s Race 9 story was all about the LO206 Junior Final. A P2 finish on the last WCKC weekend is exactly the kind of result that gives a driver confidence heading into the off-season.

Andrew Bench

TaG Junior

Andrew Bench came into Race 9 after one of the strongest TaG Junior seasons in the WCKC paddock.

Race 9 itself was a tougher one. Andrew qualified P8 with a best lap of 52.711, then finished P10 in the Pre-Final. In the Final, he completed all 15 laps and was classified P10 after receiving two five-second penalties for causing collision.

It was not the clean finale Andrew would have wanted, but championship seasons are built over months, not one race. Across the year, Andrew put together wins, poles, podiums, Pre-Final victories, and consistent front-running pace. His Race 9 result may have been complicated, but his season remains a major EDX success story.

Jack Harbidge

TaG Junior

Jack Harbidge continued building his TaG Junior program at Race 9.

Jack qualified P10 with a best lap of 52.870, putting him in the middle of a deep junior field. He then improved to P8 in the Pre-Final, completing all 11 laps and setting a best lap of 52.433. That was his strongest result of the day and showed good pace in race conditions.

In the TaG Junior Final, Jack completed all 15 laps and finished P11 with a best lap of 52.622.

Kaden Samhan

LO206 Junior

Kaden Samhan gave EDX one of the most exciting races of the weekend in LO206 Junior.

Kaden qualified P13 with a best lap of 1:06.009. He finished P13 in the Pre-Final, completing all nine laps and setting a best lap of 1:04.976.

Then came the Final, and Kaden turned it into a proper show.

He spent the race locked into a thrilling wheel-to-wheel duel with Ayden Bailey. The two traded momentum throughout the run, with multiple passes per lap and pressure all the way to the finish line. Kaden held firm and crossed the line P9, just 0.216 seconds ahead of Ayden in P10.

For a developing driver, this was a big moment. It showed composure, confidence, and the ability to keep fighting while under constant pressure.

Kaden’s Race 9 was a strong development weekend and one of the most entertaining races for the team to watch. He fought hard, stayed focused, and earned the position at the line.

Jack Eriksson

LO206 Senior

Jack Eriksson was scheduled to compete in LO206 Senior, but unfortunately got sick and was unable to make the Race 9 weekend.

It was a shame not to have Jack under the tent for the season finale, especially after the development he has shown through the year in one of the deepest and most competitive classes at WCKC.

We look forward to seeing Jack back at the track, healthy and ready to go.

Cash Coogan

TaG Senior

Cash Coogan took on the TaG Senior field at Race 9, continuing to build experience in one of the fastest categories on the schedule.

Cash qualified P11 with a best lap of 53.175. He improved in the Pre-Final to P10, completing all 11 laps and setting a best lap of 52.596.

The Final was tougher. Cash was classified P13 after completing four laps and receiving a five-second bumper penalty. His best lap in the Final was 53.148.

With Race 9 complete, the first look at the 2026 West Coast Kart Club championship standings gives EDX plenty to be excited about.

These results are preliminary and unofficial, pending final rules review, points verification, and championship confirmation. But even with that note, the current standings tell a very exciting story for the team.

Andrew Bench — Preliminary TaG Junior Champion

The biggest headline is Andrew Bench, who is currently listed P1 in the TaG Junior standings. If confirmed, this would be a huge championship result for Andrew and EDX.

Andrew’s season included poles, wins, Pre-Final victories, podiums, and consistent front-running pace. Race 9 was not the easiest finish, but his full-season body of work was strong enough to keep him at the top of the preliminary standings. That is the kind of season drivers dream about: fast early, fast often, and strong enough over the full championship to stay in control.

Teagan Kleine — Double-Class Strength

Teagan Kleine is currently listed P3 in LO206 Junior and P6 in TaG Junior, a strong result across two very different categories.

Running two classes all season is a major workload. It means twice the sessions, twice the setup work, twice the mental reset, and very little downtime. Teagan showed pace in both packages, including fastest-lap performances, podium finishes, and front-pack qualifying runs. His P2 in the Race 9 LO206 Junior Final was a perfect reminder of how strong he has become in that class.

Patrick Kleine — Top Five in Two Programs

Patrick Kleine is currently listed P4 in LO206 Heavy and P5 in Shifter. That is a strong championship picture across two demanding categories.

In LO206 Heavy, Patrick showed consistency and race craft throughout the season, closing Race 9 with a podium. In Shifter, his season included both DD2 experience and the transition into the KZ 6-speed package. That move is important for the future. The KZ platform is more demanding, but it opens a stronger pathway into the growing WCKC shifter field for 2027.

Mason Bemister and Jack Harbidge — Strong TaG Junior Presence

Mason Bemister is currently listed P7 in TaG Junior, with Jack Harbidge just behind in P8. That gives EDX multiple drivers inside the preliminary top eight of one of the most competitive junior classes in the club.

Mason showed strong pace when he raced under the tent, while Jack continued to build across a full season of TaG Junior competition. Together, they helped make EDX a major presence in the junior field.

Kaden, Cash, Jack, and Devon — Building the Program

Kaden Samhan is currently listed P15 in LO206 Junior after joining the program later in the season and gaining valuable experience under the EDX tent.

Cash Coogan is currently P17 in TaG Senior, continuing to build in one of the fastest and most competitive categories on the calendar.

Jack Eriksson is currently P22 in LO206 Senior, a deep class where every position is hard earned.

Devon Radosevic is currently P36 in TaG Senior, with points from earlier in the season contributing to the overall EDX campaign.

Together, these results show the full shape of the program: front-running championship contenders, podium drivers, developing juniors, senior-class mileage, and a team structure that continues to grow.

Team Takeaways

Race 9 was the right kind of season finale for EDX: a team banquet in the pits, sunshine on Sunday, podiums on track, and plenty of excitement around the preliminary championship standings.

Patrick Kleine delivered a LO206 Heavy podium. Teagan Kleine finished P2 in LO206 Junior and strengthened his preliminary championship podium position in that class. Andrew Bench closed the regular season with the preliminary TaG Junior championship lead. Jack Harbidge, Kaden Samhan, Cash Coogan, and Jack Eriksson all added to the team story in their respective ways, whether on track, in the points, or as part of the season-long program.

The 2026 WCKC season has shown what EDX is building: a team with depth, ambition, development pathways, and drivers competing from junior categories all the way into senior and shifter classes.

The points still need to be confirmed, but the early picture is exciting. EDX has every reason to be proud of the season and even more reason to be motivated for what comes next.
