Round 2 at Kartplex | BC Karting Championships
EDX headed to Kartplex for Round 2 of the BC Karting Championships with Devon Radosevic, Patrick Kleine, Teagan Kleine, Jack Eriksson, and Andrew Bench representing the team across a busy race weekend in BC wine country.
The weekend started with one of those paddock moments that everyone remembers. Friday brought a massive downpour, thunderstorms, and insane winds that tore through the paddock and destroyed much of the pit setup. With practice cancelled, the weekend could have easily started on the wrong foot. Instead, the teams did what racing teams do best: regrouped, rebuilt, and got ready to go again.
By Saturday morning, the paddock was back together and EDX was ready to roll.
A huge thank you goes to the organizers, officials, volunteers, and everyone who helped support the teams through the Friday weather chaos. Events like this take an enormous amount of work even in perfect conditions, and the effort to help everyone reset after the storm did not go unnoticed.
Once racing began, EDX had plenty to be proud of. Teagan Kleine was the pace story of the weekend, earning three official Fastest Lap mentions in LO206 Junior 2 and finishing just off the podium in the Final. Andrew Bench delivered the podium highlight, driving forward in TaG Junior and finishing P3 in the Final. Patrick Kleine brought home a top-ten result in LO206 Masters, Devon Radosevic fought through a deep TaG Senior field, and Jack Eriksson continued building valuable experience in LO206 Senior.
And of course, one of the great perks of racing at Kartplex is the location. Set in the heart of BC wine country, the weekend gave the EDX team the chance to balance competition with some proper team downtime. The team rented a beautiful villa right next to the resort pools, enjoyed team BBQs, and made time for visits to local wineries and culinary experiences. It was racing and relaxation in the best possible balance: intense days at the track, followed by evenings spent together as a team.
Round 2 was a weekend of resilience, pace, and connection. The storm may have tested the paddock early, but by Saturday the team was back on track, focused, and ready to race.
Weekend Highlights
The headline pace story belonged to Teagan Kleine in LO206 Junior 2. Teagan qualified P4, finished P3 in all three heats, and earned the official Fastest Lap in Heat 1, Heat 2, and Heat 3. That is a proper statement weekend. Across the heats, he showed he had the speed to run with the front group every time he hit the track.
Andrew Bench delivered the team’s biggest final-result highlight, finishing P3 in the TaG Junior Final after building momentum throughout the weekend. He qualified P8, moved forward through the heats, and converted that progress into a well-earned podium.
Patrick Kleine battled through a competitive LO206 Masters field, moving forward in Heat 1 and closing the weekend with a P9 in the Final. Devon Radosevic worked through a deep and fast TaG Senior field, improving his pace as the weekend developed and finishing P12 in the Final. Jack Eriksson took on a large LO206 Senior field and continued gaining valuable experience, showing improving lap pace across the event.
For EDX, Round 2 was about more than just results. It was about resilience after the storm, race pace across multiple classes, team connection away from the track, and carrying momentum into the next championship round.
Driver Reports
Teagan Kleine
LO206 Junior 2 and TaG Junior
Teagan Kleine had one of the strongest EDX weekends at Kartplex, competing in both LO206 Junior 2 and TaG Junior. His LO206 Junior 2 program was especially impressive, with front-pack pace across every heat and multiple official Fastest Lap mentions.
In LO206 Junior 2 qualifying, Teagan placed P4 with a best lap of 52.367, putting himself right in the mix from the start. He was less than three tenths off pole, showing immediately that he had the pace to fight at the front.
From there, Teagan turned the heats into a statement. He finished P3 in Heat 1 and earned the Fastest Lap of the race with a 51.830. In Heat 2, he again finished P3 and again took Fastest Lap, this time with a 51.428. Then in Heat 3, he made it three fastest-lap mentions in a row, finishing P3 and setting the race’s fastest lap at 51.180.
The LO206 Junior 2 Final saw Teagan finish P4, just off the podium, with a best lap of 51.482. While the Final podium just slipped away, the full weekend told the bigger story: Teagan was consistently one of the fastest drivers in the class and had the pace to challenge at the front.
Teagan also competed in TaG Junior, where he qualified P5 with a best lap of 45.374. He finished P6 in Heat 1, P8 in Heat 2 after a bumper penalty, and P7 in Heat 3. His TaG Junior Final ended with a P8 classification and a best lap of 44.939.
Class | Qualifying | Heat 1 | Heat 2 | Heat 3 | Final |
LO206 Junior 2 | P4 | P3 + Fastest Lap | P3 + Fastest Lap | P3 + Fastest Lap | P4 |
TaG Junior | P5 | P6 | P8 | P7 | P8 |
Teagan was the EDX pace story of the weekend. Three heat races, three fastest laps, and a Final finish just off the podium. That is the kind of weekend that shows what is coming next.
Andrew Bench
TaG Junior
Andrew Bench delivered EDX’s podium highlight of the weekend in TaG Junior, finishing P3 in the Final after steadily building through the event.
Andrew qualified P8 with a best lap of 45.475, only a few tenths off the front in a tight TaG Junior field. In Heat 1, he finished P7 after a bumper penalty, but his pace stayed close to the group ahead.
Heat 2 was a strong step forward, with Andrew moving up to P4 and setting a best lap of 44.818. He followed that with an even stronger P3 finish in Heat 3, putting himself firmly in the podium conversation heading into the Final.
Andrew delivered when it mattered, finishing the TaG Junior Final in P3. He crossed the line behind Cohen Duri and Morgan Fry, bringing home a well-earned podium for EDX and setting a best lap of 44.296.
Class | Qualifying | Heat 1 | Heat 2 | Heat 3 | Final |
TaG Junior | P8 | P7 | P4 | P3 | P3 |
Andrew’s weekend was a proper progression story. He qualified inside the top eight, pushed forward through the heats, and converted that momentum into a Final podium. Smart, steady, and quick when it counted.
Patrick Kleine
LO206 Masters
Patrick Kleine competed in LO206 Masters, a class packed with experienced racers and tight margins through the field.
Patrick qualified P11 with a best lap of 53.713. From there, he moved forward in Heat 1, finishing P7 and improving his best lap to 53.093. Heat 1 was his strongest race result of the weekend and showed he had the pace to move up through the Masters field.
Heat 2 was more difficult, with Patrick classified P10 after receiving a bumper penalty. He continued to battle in Heat 3, finishing P10 again while setting a best lap of 53.047, his quickest listed lap of the weekend.
In the LO206 Masters Final, Patrick finished P9 with a best lap of 53.095. It was a solid top-ten finish in a competitive field and a weekend that gave him useful laps, data, and a clear benchmark for the next round.
Class | Qualifying | Heat 1 | Heat 2 | Heat 3 | Final |
LO206 Masters | P11 | P7 | P10 | P10 | P9 |
Patrick kept working through a tough Masters field and ended the weekend inside the top ten. Heat 1 showed what was possible, and the Final gave him a clean result to close the event.
Devon Radosevic
TaG Senior
Devon Radosevic took on TaG Senior, one of the deeper and faster categories of the weekend.
Devon qualified P12 with a best lap of 45.695, matching Joshua Skimmings’ best lap time exactly but being classified behind in the order. In a field this tight, that kind of margin shows just how competitive TaG Senior was at Kartplex.
In Heat 1, Devon finished P18 with a best lap of 45.710. He improved to P16 in Heat 2, setting a best lap of 45.484. In Heat 3, he was classified P14 after a bumper penalty, but his pace improved again with a best lap of 44.743.
Devon finished the TaG Senior Final P12 with a best lap of 44.726. That was a strong recovery to close the weekend, especially after a tougher start to the heat races.
Class | Qualifying | Heat 1 | Heat 2 | Heat 3 | Final |
TaG Senior | P12 | P18 | P16 | P14 | P12 |
Devon’s weekend was about fighting through traffic, finding pace, and closing stronger than he started. His lap times improved from the mid-45s into the 44s, and he finished the Final back in P12, matching his qualifying position in a very quick senior grid.
Jack Eriksson
LO206 Senior
Jack Eriksson competed in LO206 Senior, another large and competitive field at Kartplex.
Jack qualified P18 with a best lap of 53.583. In Heat 1, he moved forward to P13, putting together his strongest race result of the weekend and showing good progress from qualifying.
In Heat 2, Jack finished P16 with a best lap of 52.746. Heat 3 unfortunately ended with a DSQ for tech, despite Jack being shown with a best lap of 52.466 before the penalty.
Jack finished the LO206 Senior Final P16, with a best lap of 52.269. A bumper penalty was applied in the Final, but Jack still completed the race and continued gaining valuable experience in a busy senior field.
Class | Qualifying | Heat 1 | Heat 2 | Heat 3 | Final |
LO206 Senior | P18 | P13 | P16 | DSQ | P16 |
Jack’s weekend had a few bumps, including the Heat 3 DSQ and a Final bumper penalty, but there were still positives. He moved up well in Heat 1 and improved his best lap pace across the event, finishing the Final with his quickest listed lap of the weekend.
Team Takeaways
Round 2 at Kartplex gave EDX plenty to be proud of.
Teagan Kleine was the pace story, earning three official Fastest Lap mentions in LO206 Junior 2 and finishing just off the podium in the Final. Andrew Bench was the podium story, driving forward through TaG Junior and finishing P3 in the Final. Patrick Kleine brought home a top-ten finish in LO206 Masters, Devon Radosevic recovered well in TaG Senior, and Jack Eriksson kept building in LO206 Senior despite a few tough breaks.
The official results only tell part of the weekend. The bigger picture is that EDX showed real pace across multiple classes, especially in the junior ranks, and left Kartplex with podium hardware, fastest-lap recognition, stronger team chemistry, and plenty of motivation for the next round.
Away from the track, the weekend also showed what makes this team special. After a Friday storm battered the paddock, everyone rebuilt and carried on. After the racing, the team came together for BBQs, time at the villa, resort pool downtime, and local winery experiences. It was a weekend that balanced racing intensity with the kind of connection that builds a stronger team.
