EDX Double-Header Race WCKC 2026 Race 3 & Race 4

  • 7 min read

EDX rolled into a packed West Coast Kart Club double-header weekend with drivers spread across LO206 Heavy, LO206 Junior, LO206 Senior, Shifter, TAG Junior, and TAG Senior.

With Race 3 running on Saturday and Race 4 following on Sunday, the weekend gave the team a full test of pace, focus, recovery, and resilience. For EDX, the weekend had a bit of everything: podiums, front-running pace, mechanical heartbreak, penalties, double-duty schedules, and some very strong signs of momentum heading into the next round.

Weekend Highlights

The headline performance of the weekend came from Andrew Bench, who delivered a standout TAG Junior double-header with a P2 Final finish on Saturday, followed by a Pre-Final win and P3 Final finish on Sunday. Andrew was the winner of Sunday’s TAG Junior Pre-Final, making it one of the strongest single-session results of the EDX weekend.

Teagan Kleine showed serious podium pace in LO206 Junior across both days. Saturday’s LO206 Junior Final ended in heartbreak when he was running 2nd on the final lap before receiving a meatball flag due to a failed rear bumper. On Sunday, he crossed the line 3rd in the LO206 Junior Final but was dropped in the official standings after a penalty. Still, Teagan’s weekend showed exactly what he is capable of: fast, composed, and right in the fight.

Patrick Kleine had a strong Sunday in LO206 Heavy, finishing P3 in the Pre-Final before running 2nd for most of the Final. With two laps to go, he lost a couple of positions and finished P4, just shy of the podium.

His Sunday Shifter outing ended before it truly began after a muffler failure on the formation lap kept him from starting the Pre-Final and Final.

Laina Zablotny carried another major double-class workload in LO206 Senior and TAG Senior, highlighted by a P7 finish in Saturday’s TAG Senior Final

Jack Harbidge showed steady progress in TAG Junior, improving on Sunday and finishing inside the top ten.

Jack Eriksson battled through the large LO206 Senior field, continuing to gain valuable race experience across both days.

Driver Reports

Patrick Kleine

LO206 Heavy and Shifter

Patrick Kleine took on a busy double-header with entries in LO206 Heavy and Shifter, showing strong race pace in LO206 and absorbing some tough luck in Shifter. On Saturday, Patrick competed in both LO206 Heavy and Shifter. In LO206 Heavy, he qualified P7, finished P6 in the Pre-Final, and came home P7 in the Final. In Shifter, Patrick was listed P2 on the qualifying grid, finished P4 in the Pre-Final, and ended the Final P7. It was a heavy workload across two very different types of racing, and Saturday gave him valuable mileage in both categories.

Sunday was Patrick’s strongest LO206 Heavy day. He was P5 in the LO206 Heavy qualifying points results, then delivered a strong P3 finish in the Pre-Final. In the Final, Patrick ran in 2nd place for most of the race, putting himself in position for a podium. Unfortunately, with just two laps to go, he lost a couple of positions and crossed the line P4. It was still an excellent Sunday drive and a clear sign that Patrick had the pace to fight at the front.

His Sunday Shifter race day ended early through no fault of his own. A muffler failure on the formation lap meant Patrick was unable to take the start in the Pre-Final, and the same issue kept him out of the Final. A frustrating mechanical issue, absolutely — but Patrick will be back strong.

Patrick’s Sunday LO206 Heavy run was the kind of drive that shows what is coming. He had the pace, ran at the front, and was in podium position until the closing laps. The Shifter mechanical issue was a tough break, but the LO206 performance gives him plenty of momentum to carry forward.

Teagan Kleine

LO206 Junior and TAG Junior

Teagan Kleine had one of the most eventful weekends on the EDX roster, competing in both LO206 Junior and TAG Junior across the double-header.

On Saturday in LO206 Junior, Teagan qualified P4 and then delivered a standout P2 in the Pre-Final, putting himself right into podium contention. The Final was shaping up to be one of the drives of the weekend. Teagan was running 2nd on the final lap when a failed rear bumper brought out the meatball flag. The official result dropped him to P10, but the result does not tell the true story of the race. It was a podium-level performance undone by a last-lap issue.

In Saturday TAG Junior, Teagan was consistent and competitive, qualifying P5, finishing P6 in the Pre-Final, and finishing P6 in the Final. That gave him a complete top-six day in one of the weekend’s stronger junior fields.

Sunday brought more front-running pace in LO206 Junior. Teagan qualified P3, finished P4 in the Pre-Final, and then crossed the line P3 in the Final. A penalty dropped him down the official standings. That said, racing comes with these moments, and Teagan handled it well. Across the weekend, he proved he had podium pace again and again.

In Sunday TAG Junior, Teagan continued to show consistency, qualifying P7, finishing P7 in the Pre-Final, and completing the Final in P7.

Teagan’s weekend was packed with pace, heartbreak, and motivation. Saturday’s LO206 Final slipped away on the final lap through a rear bumper failure, and Sunday’s podium finish was taken away by penalty. But the message is clear: Teagan was fast all weekend. He will be back super strong, fired up, and ready to turn that pace into the results he deserves.

Andrew Bench

TAG Junior

Andrew Bench delivered the strongest podium story of the EDX weekend in TAG Junior.

On Saturday, Andrew qualified P6, moved forward to P5 in the Pre-Final, and then put together a superb Final to finish P2. That gave EDX a major podium result on the opening day of the double-header.

Sunday was just as impressive. Andrew qualified P4, then won the TAG Junior Pre-Final, a major highlight of the weekend and one of the clearest examples of EDX front-running pace. Andrew Bench was also the winner of Sunday’s TAG Junior Pre-Final. He followed that with another podium in the Final, finishing P3.

Andrew was all business this weekend. A Saturday podium, a Sunday Pre-Final win, and another Sunday podium made this a huge double-header for him. Clean, fast, composed — exactly the kind of weekend that builds championship confidence.

Jack Harbidge

TAG Junior

Jack Harbidge competed in TAG Junior across both days and made clear progress from Saturday to Sunday.

On Saturday, Jack qualified P10, improved to P9 in the Pre-Final, and was classified P11 in the Final. It was a solid day of race mileage in a quick junior field.

Sunday showed improvement. Jack qualified P9, moved forward to P8 in the Pre-Final, and finished P9 in the Final. That gave him a better Sunday finish and showed steady development across the double-header.

Jack’s weekend was about building, learning, and finishing stronger than he started. Sunday was the better day on paper, and his move into the top ten in the Final gives him a good foundation heading into the next event.

Jack Eriksson

LO206 Senior

Jack Eriksson took on the large and competitive LO206 Senior field across the double-header.

On Saturday, Jack qualified P15, improved to P13 in the Pre-Final, and finished P15 in the Final. The Pre-Final was his strongest Saturday session by result and showed good progress from qualifying.

On Sunday, Jack qualified P20, finished P19 in the Pre-Final, and completed the Final P18. The LO206 Senior field was one of the busiest categories of the weekend, and Jack continued to collect important race mileage in traffic.

Jack kept working through a tough LO206 Senior field and continued building experience. These are the weekends where racecraft gets sharpened — managing traffic, staying composed, and bringing the kart home.

Laina Zablotny

LO206 Senior and TAG Senior

Laina Zablotny carried one of the heaviest EDX schedules of the weekend, running both LO206 Senior and TAG Senior across the double-header.

On Saturday in LO206 Senior, Laina qualified P11, was classified P19 in the Pre-Final, and recovered to finish P13 in the Final. In TAG Senior, she qualified P11, finished P12 in the Pre-Final, and then moved forward to finish P7 in the Final — one of the stronger senior-class results of the weekend for EDX.

Sunday was another double-duty day. In LO206 Senior, Laina qualified P15, improved to P10 in the Pre-Final, and finished P13 in the Final. In TAG Senior, she qualified P9, finished P9 in the Pre-Final, and completed the Final P11.

Laina’s weekend was a proper double-class grind. Her Saturday TAG Senior Final was the highlight, moving up to P7, while Sunday’s LO206 Senior Pre-Final showed another strong recovery drive. Across two classes and two race days, Laina kept putting in the laps and fighting forward.

Team Takeaways

This was a true double-header weekend: demanding, unpredictable, and full of racing stories.

Andrew Bench gave EDX its biggest headline with two TAG Junior Final podiums and a Sunday Pre-Final win. Teagan Kleine showed podium-level LO206 Junior pace on both days, only to have Saturday spoiled by a final-lap mechanical issue and Sunday affected by a penalty after crossing the line third. Patrick Kleine’s Sunday LO206 Heavy drive was one of the strongest team performances of the weekend, running second for most of the Final before finishing fourth, while his Shifter day ended early due to a muffler failure. Laina Zablotny delivered another hard-working double-class weekend, Jack Harbidge improved across the two days in TAG Junior, and Jack Eriksson continued building in the deep LO206 Senior field. The official results only tell part of the story. The full story is one of pace, persistence, and plenty of fight. EDX leaves the weekend with podiums, lessons, unfinished business, and a group of drivers who are clearly motivated for the next round.
